We’ve all been there—dealing with reckless drivers, frustrating roadblocks, or moments of impatience behind the wheel.
Most of the time, it ends with a honk or a glare. But sometimes, things take a much darker turn.
A shocking road rage incident in Bandar Teknologi Kajang, Hulu Langat, Selangor, has now escalated into a criminal case, with police arresting an elderly couple after dashcam footage captured them ramming a lorry driver with their SUV.
Authorities have since launched an attempted murder investigation into the case.
A minor dispute that took a violent turn

The viral footage, which has been widely shared on TikTok and Facebook, shows a small lorry overtaking a Mazda SUV in the right lane.
Instead of continuing forward, the lorry suddenly stops in front of the SUV, blocking its path. The Mazda driver attempts to switch to the left lane, but the lorry moves again, cutting it off.
Frustrated, the Mazda driver reverses to reposition the car in the right lane. Just then, the lorry driver steps out and approaches the vehicle—possibly to confront the driver.
That’s when things take a shocking turn.

Instead of staying put, the Mazda driver accelerates and rams into the lorry driver, dragging him onto the road divider before fleeing the scene.
Attempted murder investigation launched
Following the incident, Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that authorities have opened an investigation under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison if convicted, reported NST.
“We received a report from a 63-year-old woman who claimed that her 42-year-old son was knocked down by a car around 12pm on February 28. She said he suffered multiple injuries and could not move at the scene,” he said.
The complainant rushed to the location and took her son to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police obtained crucial dashcam footage from a government vehicle, which clearly captured the black SUV intentionally ramming the man after he stepped out of his lorry.
On Sunday at 11:15pm, authorities arrested a 73-year-old man and his 65-year-old wife to assist in investigations.
Legal consequences await
Apart from the attempted murder charge, police are also investigating the case under Section 279 of the Penal Code for reckless driving, which carries a penalty of up to six months in jail, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both if convicted.
District police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof warned that stern action awaits those who take the law into their own hands.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with additional details to come forward. Those with information can contact Inspector Mohd Hizwan Hamzah at 019-636 9835 to assist in the investigation.
