The manhole cover at Jalan Masjid India, which went viral for popping up multiple times, has been fixed, according to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

In a statement, DBKL clarified that the concrete cover was likely dislodged due to vandalism.

The issue caught the public’s attention after a TikTok video showed the cover repeatedly popping open, raising concerns among locals and visitors to the area.

Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) has since installed a new manhole cover in the early hours of Saturday, October 5, 2024.
“Please avoid spreading content that could cause panic or anxiety among the public,” DBKL urged in the statement, asking the public not to misuse this incident for unnecessary alarm.
