Most people would often keep all the prize money to themselves once they’ve been named the jackpot winner.
But for one man in China, he chose to surrender all of the money he won from the lottery to his wife as he valued family harmony more than earthly riches.
Found out about win during dinner
According to Southern Network, the man surnamed Wang had been buying Super Lotto tickets since 2013 and bought a ticket at a sports lottery outlet on Hecheng Street in Gaoming District, Foshan.

On Jan 14, Wang was having dinner during a shift change and went to take a look at the winning numbers. To his amazement, he discovered that he had won 8.36 million yuan (approx. RM4.7mil).
He then called his wife to tell her the good news, but she was initially skeptical and only believed him when he rushed home and personally gave her the winning ticket.
After spending a few minutes to calm himself down, Wang returned to work to carry out his night shift. As for his wife, she barely caught a wink the entire night.

Wife holds on to 100% of money
The next day, Wang and his wife drove to Foshan and collected the prize money. He later revealed the winning numbers was a random combination of his family members’ birthdates.
He also shared that having a “rational” mindset when buying lottery tickets was vital.
Wang said that all of his winnings will be handed over to his wife to manage, adding that maintaining family harmony and happiness was more important than money.
