A woman in Punggol, Singapore, claimed that her male neighbour splashed urine at her door after years of unwanted attention, with the incident caught on CCTV.
Started with small talk, escalated to ‘love letters’
The 46-year-old woman, who lives alone at Block 327B, Sumang Walk, told Shin Min Daily News that the man moved in five years ago.
Initially, he would greet her in the lift but over time, he began peeking at her flat from his window and left two “love letters” at her door.
Shocking discovery while unwell at home
On Mar 28, the woman was resting at home when she smelled urine.
Upon checking her home CCTV, she saw her neighbour throwing liquid at her door using a plastic cup before fleeing down the stairs.
The video showed the male neighbour wearing a black shirt, thus confirming her suspicions.
A full day spent on cleaning up
The act left urine stains on her walls, door, and floor, where it took the woman almost a day to clean the area. She then filed a police report on the same day.
She suspects the man acted out of jealousy as she began dating someone recently and her boyfriend would often come by to visit her.
Man denies, then expresses regret
When Shin Min Daily News reporter visited the unit on June 7, the man initially denied the incident.
But after being told there was video proof, he quietly shut the door.
Moments later, he reopened it, saying his mother was ill and expressed deep regret.
“Sometimes people act without thinking. I really regret what I did,” he told the Chinese daily.
He also denied that rejection triggered the act but said he was sorry and is willing to compensate and apologise.
