A man was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) stealing lingerie at a flat in Singapore after the fed up owner decided to catch him in the act.
In a surprising twist however, he backpedaled and returned the lingerie after he realised his act was filmed by the CCTV.
Man steals undies and stuffs into pants
In a series of CCTV footage shared by Elyvi Lim on Facebook on Sunday (Feb 1), it showed the man clad in a grey t-shirt and black pants walking past her Choa Cho Kang flat at around 9.34am on Jan 31.
As he did so, his hands headed towards his pants zipper, where heโs seen unzipping it slightly.

Upon reaching his โdestinationโ, which was the laundry area of the womanโs unit, the man spends the next 50 seconds deliberating which lingerie to steal.
After picking his lingerie of choice, he then quickly stuffed it into his pants but made the costly mistake of making eye contact with the CCTV.

Returns undies to original place
Upon noticing the CCTV, the man froze in his tracks and stares right into it for 10 seconds.
Perhaps realising that his act had been filmed, he shuffled his way back to the laundry area with his head hung low and returned the lingerie he had stolen.

According to Elyvi, she said the man had been spotted previously at Choa Cho Kang and Yew Tee, notably at blocks numbered 600 and above.
She also urged those who knew the manโs identity to contact her immediately.
Police later confirmed to Mothership that a police report has been lodged and that a 27-year-old man is assisting them in a case of dishonest misappropriation of property.
