Shoppers at a popular mall in Penang were left stunned after a man reportedly fell multiple floors before landing on the Chinese New Year decor set up within the mall today.
Photos of the aftermath soon found its way to social media, leaving many worried for the man’s wellbeing.
Man plunges from upper floor at popular Penang mall
According to photos shared to the Facebook group PenangToday Community, it showed the indoor CNY decoration sustaining considerable damage.
One of the photos also showed the upper roof of a makeshift traditional-style house being torn into half due to the impact of the fall.

In the post, the OP wrote that a man had fallen and an ambulance was on its way, adding that he hopes the man “will be fine”.
It’s also not known whether the man survived the fall or not.
Cause for fall unknown
The Star later reported that the man was believed to have fallen from a higher-up floor of the mall.

A representative from the mall told the English daily that management is currently probing the matter, adding that a statement will be issued once the cause for the man’s fall has been determined.
