A man in Brazil became a multimillionaire after he was named the winner of a whopping R$201.9 million (approx. RM46million) lottery jackpot on Nov 9.
However, he never had the opportunity to fully enjoy his winnings as he died 25 days later on Dec 4.

According to a report by Metropoles, the man, 73-year-old Antônio Lopes de Siqueira, was revealed to be the winner when the numbers he betted on – 13, 16, 33, 43, 46, 55 – were chosen using the lottery outlet’s random number generator.
The lottery shop owner revealed that Siqueira was a regular customer who would stop by every week and often said in jest that he would win the lottery one day.
Additionally, Siqueira’s win was the largest one of the year and he was named the winner as he was the only person whose bet matched all six numbers drawn.
In a cruel twist of fate, Siqueira breathed his last at around 10am on Dec 4 during a dental appointment. However, his family members said he had a clean bill of health and was full of joy when he won the lottery.
At first, police believed foul play wasn’t the cause of Siqueira’s death. But, further tests were later conducted to uncover the real reason.
On Dec 6, the Official Forensic and Technical Identification Office said that an autopsy report revealed that Siqueira suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest.
Police chief Edison Pick from the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Unit said Siqueir’s health records and documents from the dental clinic were collected for analysis.
CCTV footage from the dental clinic were also viewed by police as part of the ongoing investigation.
