What was supposed to be just another routine flight turned into chaos when one of the passengers had a freakout over his seating.
As a result of the public meltdown, the plane was forced to turn back and the man was promptly escorted off the flight.
Fought for 2 hours over not sitting beside GF
According to Jimu News, the Spring Airlines flight, IJ005, was supposed to depart from Narita International Airport for Shanghai, China on Monday (Dec 1).

After passengers boarded the plane, a man asked the cabin crew whether he could change his seat so that he and his girlfriend could be seated together.
However, the request was rejected when the man refused to pay for the seat swap and the plane took off at 7.19pm.
During the flight, the man caused a ruckus which lasted almost close to two hours, where he verbally sparred with the cabin crew over not being able to sit next to his partner, reported Guang Ming Daily.
Plane u-turns
As a result, the cabin crew contacted police and the plane turned back to Narita International Airport, where it touched down at 10.59pm.

The man was later escorted off the plane by local police and passengers were forced to wait for a rescheduled flight at 10am on Tuesday (Dec 2).
The passengers told Jimu News that the airline offered a 10,000 yen (approx. RM265) compensation, but did not provide accommodation, leading them to spend the night by sleeping on benches and chairs around the airport.
