Nasi lemak is undoubtedly one of Malaysia’s most recognised and loved dishes by both locals and tourists alike, so much so that some are willing to go the distance just to have a taste of it.
A man from Singapore was so smitten by the nasi lemak he had from a famed restaurant in Petaling Jaya (PJ) that he hopped on a plane and flew all the way there just to satisfy his cravings.
Man flies all the way to KL just to have nasi lemak
In the 2-minute 23-second clip shared by content creator Darshen, he began by saying how “unfair” it was for Malaysia to “have the better nasi lemak” before revealing he was flying to KL with a friend at 6am.
After checking in their luggage, Darshen and his friend decided to have a meal at the lounge area and do some shopping before they boarded the plane.
Unfortunately, they got a bit carried away in the process and had to run to the boarding gate in order not to miss their flight.
Thankfully, all wasn’t lost for them as they managed to board their flight on time and began their 45-minute journey to KL.
Upon landing in KL, Darshen and his friend then made their way to the famed Village Park Restaurant, which has made a name for itself with its delectable nasi lemak.
And it seems that Darshen couldn’t agree more too, where he was seen digging into a plate of nasi lemak and declaring it as the “best” he’s tasted so far.
Not going to be the last time
In a brief conversation with WeirdKaya, Darshen said the first time he dropped by the restaurant was back in Oct 2023, where he instantly fell in love with it.
It was honestly the best nasi lemak I ever had in my life so I guess I missed it (when I left KL),” he said.
He added the nasi lemak still tasted just as superb on his recent trip to Village Park, adding that he plans to return to KL again to try more nasi lemak places.
