If you’re one who has a shy or introverted personality, you might find it hard to break certain news to your boss such as quitting and wanting to work elsewhere.
A man in India who was too scared to inform his boss about his desire to resign resorted to cutting off four of his fingers instead of saying it directly.
Man chops off 4 of his fingers to avoid telling boss he wanted to quit
According to Oddity Central, the man, 32-year-old Mayur Tarapara, went to the police station in the city of Surat and told them that he discovered four fingers were missing from his left hand.
He also told police that he was riding his motorcycle to a friend’s house when he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed on the side of the road, only to find his left hand severely mutilated when he woke up 10 minutes later.
At first, police thought Tarapara’s fingers were cut off by someone to use in a black magic ritual, but as they dug further, they began to poke holes at his story.
Their doubts only grew further when they looked into CCTV footage in the area where Tarapara claimed to have passed out, where they couldn’t find any evidence to support it.
Instead, CCTV footage showed Tarapara parking his bike near a ring road before walking away and returning with an injured left hand. When police questioned him about it, he crumbled and admitted to fabricating the story.
According to Tarapura, he didn’t to work at his relative’s diamond company any longer but couldn’t bring himself to inform his boss about it.
As such, he figured that losing four of his fingers would make him unable to work at the factory anymore and proceeded to cut them off.
So far, police have managed to located three of Tarapura’s fingers which were dumped inside a bag and are currently extracting more information from him regarding the incident.
