A man who was caught on video behaving inappropriately at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) had reportedly missed his earlier flight after falling asleep.
According to police, the individual is a 44-year-old Indian national.
Incident occurred at MyBorder counter area
KLIA district police chief ACP Ravi Munusamy said the incident took place at around 9.50pm on 6 Mar at the MyBorder counter in the international arrivals area of KLIA2.
The case gained attention after a video of the man circulated on social media.
Police also confirmed that no official report has been lodged regarding the incident so far.
Pants slipped after scratching thigh
Initial investigations found that the man had earlier missed a flight scheduled for 8.45pm on 5 Mar because he had fallen asleep.
At the airport, he was later seen scratching his right thigh, which caused his trousers to slide down for around two minutes.
Airport staff who noticed the situation stepped in, reprimanded him and helped him pull his trousers back up.
Family contacted by airline
Ravi added that airline representatives have contacted the man’s family members to arrange for him to be handed over to the Indian High Commission.
Police also reminded the public to behave appropriately in public spaces, especially in busy locations such as airports where large crowds gather.
