Puchong, known for being a flood-prone area, was hit by yet another flash flood this afternoon following a brief but heavy thunderstorm.
Multiple videos posted by users on social media showed floodwaters quickly rising across several areas in Puchong.
One of the worst-hit spots appeared to be the major road in front of IOI Puchong Mall, where floodwaters brought traffic to a standstill.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Xiaohongshu user Miss Chivv shared her experience, saying, “It was a sudden heavy rain with thunderstorm.
After 10 to 15 minutes of the rain at 5.19 pm, I noticed the water starting to rise. As of 5.55 pm, the water has receded and the roads are clear again, but the traffic jam is really bad.”
Netizens who commented on her post echoed similar sentiments, saying the water levels rose quickly but thankfully subsided just as fast.
Despite the water retreating, many drivers were left stuck in long traffic jams during the post-flood chaos.
Another video on Xiaohongshu shows that some shop lots in that area are also flooded.
