Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) pro tem chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has finally broken his silence four days after GE15, where he lost the Langkawi parliamentary seat, the first in 53 years.

As for his party Pejuang, it lost all 125 contested constituencies as well.

‘I’m sad over Pejuang’s loss’
In a Facebook post, Mahathir wrote that he saddened by the results but accepted the people’s will.
He added that he couldn’t be part of the Opposition as Pejuang did not win a single seat.

I hope that whoever wins will form the government.
“For now, I wish to focus on writing about the country’s history and activities.
“Indeed, there have been many occurrences in the country that were unrecorded, including those during the British era,” he wrote.
