The English news portal also reported that Mahathir, who recently celebrated his 99th birthday on July 10, was admitted at IJN for a total of 53 days during his last visit.

Mahathir is best known for being the longest serving prime minister in Malaysia as well as being the only one to hold the position twice, once in 1981 and again in 2018.

He is currently being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged corruption during his two-stints as prime minister, a charge he vehemently denies.
