Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) after he fell at his KL residence at 9.30am today.
The incident was confirmed by his press secretary Suffi Yusoff when contacted by Astro Awani.
“Yes, he was admitted to IJN due to a fall and is currently still under overall monitoring,” he said.
Meanwhile, a media officer from Dr Mahathir’s office said that a statement regarding the former premier’s health condition will be released soon.
Mahathir, who was Malaysia’s longest serving prime minister and is now 100 years old, was previously admitted to IJN on July 13, 2025, due to fatigue but was allowed to return home at 4.45pm on the same day.
