A deputy public prosecutor working for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) found himself on the wrong side of the law after he was found to have drugs in his possession.
This comes after police conducted a raid at the suspect’s home following a tip-off yesterday (Sept 23).
MACC prosecutor gets busted for drugs
According to China Press, police were alerted by a call made via the MERS emergency hotline at 6.30am, where a woman on the line told them her husband was intoxicated and in a disoriented state.
Upon reaching the suspect’s home, they searched the house and found a plastic packet weighing 1.1 grams, believed to contain methamphetamine, inside his backpack.

He was immediately arrested on the spot for drug possession.
MACC later confirmed the incident, saying in a statement that the suspect had just reported for duty a week ago, reported NST.
“The matter has been handed over to the police for further investigation. We will give them full cooperation in their investigation.
“We will not compromise on misconduct, breaches of the law, or any criminal acts involving its officers or staff. We are committed to upholding integrity and good governance at all times,” it said.

Failed urine test
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalil Ismail told reporters in a press conference that the suspect tested positive for drugs following a urine test.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
