A clip showing passengers screaming in terror and cowering with fear at the Abdullah Hukum LRT station has recently surfaced on social media.
This comes after several sounds that resembled explosion sounds were heard being released at the station, sending passengers scurrying for safety.
2 loud bangs heard at Abdullah Hukum LRT station
In the close to 1-minute clip shared on Facebook by Traffic Info Crew, it showed several passengers inside an LRT when suddenly a loud bang, accompanied by a bright flash, was heard.
This caused some to scream loudly while others quickly stood to their feet while wondering what had caused the sound.

Less than a minute after the first loud bang was heard, another rang out in the air and caused several more people to scream and yell fearfully.
The camera then panned towards the LRT located opposite, where it showed several passengers rushing out of the train and heading towards the exit.
Smoke was also seen billowing out from underneath the LRT, partially obscuring visibility.

According to the video caption, the incident took place last night at around 10.40pm, where passengers were instructed to alight the LRT after the loud bangs were heard.
RapidKL issues statement
RapidKL later released a statement on the matter, confirming that there were delays to train services along the Kelana Jaya Line due to a technical disruption between the Universiti and Abdullah Hukum stations.
It said the disruption was expected to remain until the end of operating hours, with alternative trains deployed. It also added repairs will only be done after operating hours.
Another statement was released this morning, with RapidKL announcing the Kelana Jaya Line was back to normal operations.
However, it didn’t reveal what had caused the loud bangs heard at the Abdullah Hukum station.
