If you’ve ever parked your car and thought “Okay lah, just for a while”, this incident in Kajang might make you double-check your handbrake.
A lorry that was parked by the roadside in Kajang reportedly started moving on its own while its driver had stepped away to go for a meal.
The unmanned lorry then rolled forward and crashed into five parked vehicles along Jalan Persiaran Damai Perdana.
The incident happened at around 12.45pm yesterday near a commercial area close to a school.

Driver left lorry to eat, but vehicle started rolling
According to Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, initial investigations found that the lorry was parked on the road shoulder before the driver left the vehicle to have lunch.
Shortly after, the lorry suddenly began moving by itself and ploughed into vehicles parked on both sides of the road, causing damage to five cars.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among drivers or passengers involved.
Police have opened an investigation under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers careless or improper driving offences.
Reminder for motorists
Following the incident, police reminded road users to always practise safe and careful driving, including ensuring vehicles are properly secured when parked.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one forgotten handbrake to turn a lunch break into a traffic accident.
