Owls are often associated with mystery, magic, and…Harry Potter?
While these birds are more commonly found in forests or nocturnal tales, one owl decided to mix things up by showing up at a flat in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore, and perching right on someone’s window.
Eastern Barn Owl Spotted Napping On Flat Window In S’pore
The surprise visit happened last Sunday (December 1) and was shared by Facebook user Et AI in the Nature Society Singapore group.

The owl, resembling Hedwig from the iconic wizarding series, decided this window was the perfect spot for an afternoon siesta.
According to the post, the bird snoozed peacefully, only sparing a glance into the house when someone got too close.

The uninvited (but welcome) guest stayed from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, giving the household plenty of time to bask in its feathery magnificence.
The story quickly garnered attention on social media, with many calling the residents lucky for getting such a close encounter with the bird.

However, not everyone was feeling the magic. Some netizens expressed sadness for the owl, attributing its appearance in the urban area to habitat loss caused by deforestation.

Adding to the discussion, another netizen pointed out that the bird was likely an Eastern Barn Owl.
This species, known for favouring buildings over forests, might have found the flat’s window more appealing than the treetops.
