A light aircraft skidded off the runway while attempting to land at the Melaka International Airport (LTAM) earlier today.
The aircraft, a Piper PA-28-181 operated by Malaysian Flying Academy Sdn. Bhd. (MFA), was undergoing a training flight at the time of the incident.
As reported by Kosmo, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) stated that the incident occurred at around 2.55pm, when the plane veered off the runway during landing.
The pilot sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigation underway
CAAM added that recovery efforts are ongoing to remove the aircraft, and a thorough runway inspection will be conducted to ensure flight operations can safely resume.
The runway is expected to reopen by 5pm today.
A safety investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.
