LHDN’s Website Crashes On 2nd Day Of Income Tax Filing As M’sians Rush To Claim Tax Refund

Were you able to file your taxes?
With income tax filing for the 2025 assessment year officially kicking off yesterday (Mar 1), Malaysians have rushed to files their income taxes so that they can get their tax refunds earlier.

However, it seemed that it was too much for the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia’s (LHDN) website to take, leading to it crashing entirely.

A check by WeirdKaya on LHDN’s website showed a white screen along with the words “Error 503”, which refers to a web server crashing out temporarily due to high traffic or ongoing maintainence.

LHDN also acknowledged the matter on its Facebook page, where it announced that the website was facing technical issues and apologised for the inconvenience.
