The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), through the Department of Women’s Development (JPW), is committed to addressing domestic violence by organizing the Program Advokasi Kesejahteraan Untuk Wanita @Keganasan Rumah Tangga @ Aku Wanita@KRT.
The program, launched by Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad at Dewan Galasa Caldwell in Ipoh, carried the theme “Ayuh Berani Lapor” (Let’s Be Brave to Report).
A platform for awareness & support
The initiative aims to raise public awareness, encourage victims to speak up, and provide a safe space for counselling and recovery. Activities included:
- K-Chat sessions with trained counsellors,
- Testimonies from survivors,
- Forums with experts.
It successfully gathered around 500 participants from diverse backgrounds.

Continuous advocacy
KPWKM emphasized that such advocacy programs must be ongoing to ensure society remains alert and empathetic to social issues, especially those involving the safety and wellbeing of women, children, and families.
Other related KPWKM initiatives include Program Matahari, IRIS, Skuad Waja, and providing counselling services.
Positive impact & empowerment
The ministry hopes the program will bring long-term positive impact by:
- Strengthening support networks for victims,
- Empowering women across the country,
- Highlighting the importance of family safety and community care.
