A recent act of kindness by a Malaysian woman has warmed the hearts of many after she shared her experience rescuing a stray puppy named “Sardin” on social media.
Her story of compassion quickly went viral, inspiring others to care for vulnerable animals.
The woman documented the entire rescue operation on 20 December on her TikTok Cuckam.my, when she and her friend stepped in to save Sardin.

The stray puppy had been living in a drainage pipe that had become unsuitable as it grew bigger.
The woman recounted how she felt worried for Sardin’s safety after work and sought help from her friend to speed up the rescue.
However, Sardin, frightened and hesitant, refused to leave the pipe. Undeterred, the woman and her friend climbed into the drain to coax Sardin out.

After several attempts, they finally managed to pull the dog to safety.
Healthy and free from illnesses
On the way to the veterinary clinic, Sardin, nervous and carsick, vomited and soiled the woman’s clothes.
But instead of being upset, she felt relief and joy when the veterinary check-up showed Sardin was healthy, free from illnesses like distemper or parvovirus.
Although I smell awful now, Sardin’s health is all that matters!” she said, sharing her happiness in completing half of her mission. She expressed hope to find Sardin a loving home soon.

Adoption is available
Currently, Sardin has received its first vaccination and deworming treatment and is temporarily placed in a safe location.
The woman also shared adoption details at the end of her video, hoping to connect Sardin with a caring owner.

The video, which was posted last week, has received over 244k views and over 27k likes at press time, with many praising the woman’s selflessness and kindness.
“You are truly an angel,” one wrote.
“May you always be happy, healthy, and successful!” another wrote.
“You didn’t just save a dog; you’ve also raised awareness about the plight of stray animals.”
This heartwarming rescue highlights the profound impact of compassion and serves as a reminder of the importance of helping those in need—whether human or animal.
