A wide-eyed, long-haired cat found itself trapped in a toy car in Woodlands, leading to a dramatic rescue that has captured the attention of animal lovers online.
The cat, found embedded within the chassis of the plastic toy car near the rubbish chute of Block 61x on Christmas Day (25 Dec), was freed thanks to the efforts of a compassionate man armed with a power tool.
Trapped with damp fur
In the first video shared on Facebook, the cat appeared startled but calm, its fur slightly damp, possibly from being caught in the rain.
The rescuer carefully loosened screws on the toy car using an electric drill to free the animal.
A second video show the climax moment when the Good Samaritan removed a pair of wheels and the axle from the toy car, creating a pathway for the cat to escape.
The instant the feline realized it was free, it bolted from the scene, running towards the void deck of Block 61x.
Looking for someone to adopt
The original poster, who shared the videos in the Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats Facebook group, mentioned that it’s unclear how long the cat had been trapped.
They noted the cat appeared frightened and traumatised but seemed physically unharmed after the ordeal.
An update at 11:38 PM later that day (25 Dec) revealed the cat is still in the area, hiding near the same block.
The poster appealed to the community for help in securing or rescuing the cat, as they were unable to do so due to personal circumstances.
