In a now-viral TikTok video, a man named Jefree was seen slowly making his way down a road in the rain using two crutches.
With no umbrella and no one by his side, he was on a quiet mission to get food—something many of us take for granted.
“I’m dirty, don’t help me”
As fate would have it, a kind-hearted Chinese man happened to drive past and noticed Jefree’s condition.
He pulled over and offered help, but Jefree initially declined, ashamed of how dirty and wet he was.
I’m dirty, no one wants to help me. I live alone. My parents are gone,” he said.
“I can’t, sir. I’m dirty. I’ll dirty your car,” he added.
What changed his mind
After a few gentle words, Jefree agreed to accept the help.
He admitted he hardly ever asks anyone for assistance, but that day he was desperate, he feared he wouldn’t have anything to eat until the next day.
A tragic past that still haunts him
While they drove, Jefree opened up about his past.
His parents had died in a house fire that also took his leg. Since then, he has been living alone with very little support or resources.
The driver then brought him to get nasi campur and bought additional food supplies like biscuits and bottled drinks for Jefree to take home. It was a small act of kindness but for someone like Jefree, it meant everything.
Empty house without furniture and no electricity
The video continued with the driver sending Jefree back to his home. What viewers saw was heartbreaking, an empty house without furniture, and no electricity because the bills hadn’t been paid.
Toward the end of the video, Jefree became visibly emotional as he thanked the man who had helped him.
The video has touched thousands of hearts online, with many praising the man’s generosity.
Some netizens even shared that they’ve seen Jefree before, often walking alone in Slim Village, Perak, just to buy food.
