A single mother could hardly her eyes when she was presented with a brand new car entirely for free thanks to a kind, anonymous donor.
The heartwarming story was shared in a Facebook post by Nurul Izzah, the daughter of Anwar Ibrahim and PKR deputy president.
Raised 4 kids all by herself
According to Nurul Izzah, the woman named Kak Fad has a total of four children and had been raising them singlehandedly when her husband left them 13 years ago.
Out of the four siblings, one of them is disabled, while the eldest child is currently studying Medical Science at an international university in hopes of finding a cure for his brother’s condition.
Despite not coming from an educated or wealthy background, Kak Fad persevered and earns a living by sewing clothes, where her income is RM400 per month.
However, there were also times where she had zero income, leaving her with no money to buy food for herself.
On top of that, Kak Fad also wakes up at 4am daily and spends 2 hours sending her OKU child to school.
“She has to take a bus, then the MRT, and then push a wheelchair for another 20 minutes to reach the school.
Whether it’s heavy rain, scorching heat, or even when she’s unwell, this has been her daily routine for years.
“Despite her hardships, she has never begged. She keeps her pain inside, showing only the calm smile of a mother who has accepted her fate,” wrote Nurul Izzah.
Kind donor steps in
Moved by Kak Fad’s plight, Nurul Izzah said she began writing letters to several individuals to ask for help. Unfortunately, many went unanswered.
To her surprise, one of the recipients responded to her plea for help and sponsored a Chery Omoda 5 worth RM110,000 for Kak Fad.
Needless to say, Kak Fad’s family were overjoyed and grateful for the gift.
“With this “new ride,” she no longer has to wake up at 4am, endure the cold while waiting for the bus, take the MRT, and walk for 20 minutes just to send her child to school every day.
“And if she works hard and uses her time wisely, she can even become an e-hailing driver and earn extra income!” added Nurul Izzah.
