A heartwarming act of generosity has been making rounds on social media after an elderly woman in Singapore went out of her way to make a donation at a mosque during Ramadan.
Took her time to reach the top
A Facebook user shared a touching encounter at Masjid Al-Ansar, where he noticed an elderly woman slowly making her way up the mosque stairs.
Holding tightly onto the handrail, she carefully took one step at a time, her movements deliberate and cautious.
Despite the effort it took, she eventually reached the top, opened her bag, and pulled out an SGD10 note, which she then placed into the Ramadan donation box.
Saad described how her face relaxed into a gentle smile, as though she had just lifted a weight off her shoulders.
“More than just a donation”
While the woman may not have been a Muslim, her simple act of kindness left a strong impression.
Saad reflected on how her small yet meaningful gesture went beyond religious boundaries, showing that compassion and generosity can unite people from different backgrounds.
“The way she climbed those stairs wasn’t just about dropping money into a box,” he wrote. “It was a moment of unity, kindness, and goodwill that spoke louder than words.”
