For every car owner, the most logical place to park your vehicle would be either the garage or the front porch. But who would have thought that the roof could be an option too?
Malaysians were left stunned and amused following a viral TikTok video which showed not one, but two cars being parked on top of a house roof in Jerlun, Kedah.
Viral clip shows Kancil and Saga parked on top of house roof
In a 21-second video shared by @anaksulong33, it showed the OP and his friend driving along a road when the camera zooms into an unusual sight — a Perodua Kancil and Proton Saga seen parked side-by-side on top of a house roof.
Needless to say, the sight of the two cars being parked at such an unexpected spot got the OP all excited, who jokingly commented that the cars were out ‘relaxing’ on the roof.
The clip has since garnered over 520,000 views at the time of writing and netizens were left bemused and tickled by how the cars managed to ‘park’ themselves on the roof.
One commented that delivery riders and couriers will have little problems delivering items to said house as all they needed to do was to look for the one that had cars on top of the roof.
Another hinted that the cars were probably parked on top of the roof as the owner wanted to prevent his children from going out too late at night.
Another jokingly said that the Kancil had asked the Saga to accompany it on top of the roof as it didn’t want to hang out alone.
However, the clip didn’t answer the question on everyone’s minds: how on earth did the cars end up on the roof?
So…how did the cars get up there?
The answer was later revealed by the car owner Awang Ali Abdullah, who had an interesting reason for the vehicles being placed on top of the house located at Kampung Matang Bonglai Kechil, Ayer Hitam.
Speaking to NST, Awang said the cars were placed on top of the roof in order to make space for a tent for his grandnephew’s kenduri (wedding reception).
I came up with the idea when I saw there was no space to park the two vehicles so I decided to use a crane to lift the Perodua Kancil and Proton Saga with the help of my nephews.
“However, I never expected that it to be filmed and go viral on social media,” he said, adding that many came from as far as Penang just to take photos of the cars.
Awang added that he will let the cars remain on the house roof for another week or two to allow the public to snap pictures of them.
