In a social media post, a Malaysian woman shared how she once had to rush to her younger sibling’s boarding school to save them from a violent bullying incident — a case that still haunts her today.
She said her sibling called her in distress, saying:
Kak, you have to save me today. If not, I’ll die from being beaten tonight.”
Without hesitation, she rushed to the school and confronted those involved, demanding that her sibling be removed from the hostel immediately.
She didn’t think about school rules or procedures, she just wanted to ensure their safety.
“I managed to get my sibling out that same day. The case was settled, and I made sure they were safe,” she wrote.
The woman said she was heartbroken when she heard about the recent case of Zara Qairina, a Form One student whose death has been linked to alleged bullying at her school in Sabah.
“It hurts because it feels like she was our own younger sibling. The difference is, she was a victim who couldn’t be saved,” she said, adding a prayer for justice in Zara’s case.
She also shared how she always reminds her sibling to come to her if anything is wrong, even if they can’t tell their parents.
Good or bad, let me be the one to handle it,” she told them.
The post has since drawn hundreds of supportive comments, with many praising her for standing up for her sibling and highlighting the need for schools to take bullying cases more seriously.
