A Malaysian woman took to social media to recount her JPJ driving test experience, revealing how she failed her first attempt over a barely visible road marking, only to pass without a hitch on her second try.
Recalling her first test, the woman said she was assigned a female JPJ officer. As she approached the final corner of the test route, she claimed the road marking was no longer visible, prompting her to move slightly to the left earlier to enter a junction.
“At the last corner, the road line was already impossible to see, so I moved left earlier to enter the junction,” she wrote.
However, the officer immediately told her that she had entered the emergency lane and informed her she would be failed.
When the woman questioned the decision, she said the officer acknowledged the faded marking but insisted the route was familiar to her.
“She said the line couldn’t be seen anymore, but told me she had already memorised the road,” the woman shared.
Trying to clarify the situation, the woman asked whether the mistake was hers or due to poor road maintenance.
So I asked her, is this my fault or JKR’s fault? She said it was my fault because I didn’t know the road.”
Frustration eventually got the better of her, and she admitted to making an angry remark towards the authorities. a reaction that cost her the test.
“I lost my temper and said JKR and JPJ were both stupid. I was failed immediately and badly,” she added, laughing at the memory.
2nd attempt a completely different story
Her second driving test, however, could not have been more different.
This time, she was assigned two male JPJ officers, with her test scheduled close to Friday prayers. According to her, the instructions were brief and straightforward.
“As soon as I got into the car, he asked if I already knew what to do. He told me not to over-adjust anything, just put on the seatbelt and start driving,” she wrote.
At the first traffic light, she was instructed to make a U-turn and continue driving normally.
“He told me to just drive like usual,” she added.
Midway through the test, the officer reportedly questioned how she could have failed previously given her driving.
“He asked me how I even failed my first test when I was driving properly,” she said.
When she replied that she had been failed by a female JPJ officer previously, the officer burst out laughing.
“He laughed and said, ‘You’ve already passed. Let’s go back, I’m hungry,’” she wrote.

One netizen recalled being asked to shift into neutral at a traffic light, only for the gear to get stuck repeatedly.
‘The car stalled twice because the gear was extremely hard to move. When she wanted to fail me, I told her to try shifting it herself,‘ the netizen wrote.
After attempting to shift the gear with one hand and failing, the officer reportedly needed both hands to move it.
‘So I asked her, was it my fault or the car’s fault? In the end, I passed,’ they added.
Another commenter shared how staying calm and respectful helped them pass despite being scolded.
‘She scolded me for not checking the side mirror, but I stayed quiet. When she asked if I was listening, I said yes. At the end, I greeted her respectfully, and she passed me.’
