What may look “cool” on the road could actually be putting lives at serious risk.
The Melaka branch of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently seized two motorcycles during a recent enforcement operation carried out around the state.
Multiple offences detected
According to authorities, both motorcycles were found committing several major offences, including having expired road tax (LKM), no valid insurance coverage, and failing to display registration numbers.

These violations alone already place riders on the wrong side of the law, but what shocked officers further was the condition of the motorcycles themselves.
Investigations revealed that both motorcycles had undergone extreme modifications, to the extent that they were no longer safe to be on the road.
Most notably, the motorcycles were found to be without a braking system, posing a severe danger not only to the riders but also to other road users.
Such reckless modifications significantly increase the risk of accidents, especially when combined with the lack of basic legal requirements like insurance.
JPJ warns of strict action
JPJ Melaka stressed that firm action will continue to be taken against individuals who violate road regulations.
The department also urged the public to always comply with traffic laws and ensure that their vehicles are in proper and safe condition before use.
They also reminded road users not to treat safety lightly as irresponsible actions on the road can have serious consequences for both themselves and others.
