You Can Now Settle Your JPJ Fines At 50% Off Until June 30

Time to settle your fines.
If you currently have a traffic fine that you’ve yet to clear, we have some good news for you.

How so? This is because you will be able to settle it for just half the amount starting tomorrow (Jan 3) to June 30.

50% discount for JPJ fines from Jan 3 to June 30

According to a report by Malay Mail, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said there are only three types of summonses that are eligible for the 50% discount.

They are:

  • AwAS Summons (Summons 53A): Issued for speeding violations or running the red light captured under the Automated Awareness Safety System (AwAS).
  • Notice 114: Known as an Interview Notice, typically issued to request additional information or clarification from drivers regarding a specific traffic offense.
  • Notice 115: Referred to as a Sticker Summons Notice, issued directly by JPJ for particular traffic violations.

Under this initiative, offenders only need to pay a flat rate of RM150 instead of the usual RM300 amount.

There are currently two million outstanding AwAS summonses going back to 2018. To address this, we are providing this special compound rate for six months to enable those with unpaid summonses to settle them promptly.

“Failure to settle these outstanding summonses will result in restrictions, such as being unable to renew their driving licences or vehicle licences. This special rate aims to assist individuals in resolving their overdue summonses,” Loke told reporters during a press conference.

Payment options include JPJ counters, the Public Portal, JPJ KIOSKs, JPJ Mobile Counters, and the MyJPJ app. It’s also important to note that the special rate is not available through the MyEG platform.

During the discount period, no Demerit Points will be recorded to serve as a temporary measure in allowing the Enforcement Division to refine the demerit point system for future implementation.
