A real estate agent was found in a lifeless state inside a sports utility vehicle (SUV) parked in front of a hotel in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, on Wednesday night (Apr 9).
He was later identified as 34-year-old Toh Wen Hui, who was also the treasurer of Johor DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY).
Johor DAP Youth Treasurer found dead inside car
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Toh was found unconscious inside a Proton X50 by his cousin at the scene.
Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said police received information from Toh’s cousin after his vehicle’s location was tracked using the Apex tracking application.

“The victim’s cousin tried knocking on the SUV’s window while its engine was still running, but the victim remained unresponsive, prompting her to contact emergency services.
“Initial investigations found no criminal elements in the incident and no note was found in the vehicle,” he said.
Told mother of unpaid debts
Patit also revealed that prior to his death, Toh had contacted his mother via WhatsApp on Tuesday (Apr 8) and told her of the immense pressure he faced due to debts owed to clients.

“The deceased was believed to be under stress to repay about RM500,000 of his clients’ money intended for purchasing homes.
“His family told police that the total debt amounted to RM700,000, where RM200,000 had already been repaid,” he said.
Patit added Toh’s body was sent to the Melaka General Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death and that the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).
Tributes for Toh pour in
Following the news of Toh’s passing, Johor DAPSY Johor paid their last respects to him on social media and mourned over the loss of a colleague.
Bakri MP Tan Hong Pin also penned a tribute to Toh in a Facebook post, where he described the latter as an “optimistic, cheerful, passionate” individual.
A four-day funeral service is currently being held at Nirvana Memorial Center in Skudai to honour Toh’s memory and allow the community to pay their final respects.
