Johor Company Ordered To Close After Jalur Gemilang Was Spotted Being Hung Upside Down

Oh no.
Another case of the national flag being hung upside down has surfaced yet again, this time at a company located at the Senai Airport City in Johor.

This comes after a netizen took a video of the incident and posted it on social media, attracting attention from both the public and authorities.

Shut down temporarily

After the video published online, the Kulai Municipal Council headed over to the company and ordered it to shut down immediately until further notice at 12.05am today, reported China Press.

The order was made under Section 49(2) of the 2019 Kulai Municipal Council Licensing, Trade and Industry By-laws.

Johor housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor later commented on the viral video, saying that action had been taken and that the flag’s position had been rectified.

He also revealed that the blunder was made by a foreign worker.

When contacted by the Chinese daily, Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) president Mohd Hafiz Alima said authorities are still taking action and declined from commenting further.

This isn’t the first time the national flag had been displayed incorrectly in the state, with the previous incident taking place last year:
