Singapore-based budget airline Jetstar Asia has announced today that it will be permanently shutting down operations for good at the end of next month.
The news has since shocked its loyal customer base, who were sad to see the airline company being forced to close due to soaring operating costs.
Jetstar Asia: ‘Incredibly difficult news’
In a Facebook post, Jetstar Asia wrote that that closure will come into effect on July 31, 2025.
It added that the closure was attributed to “escalating costs in the region it operates in” for the past few years.

“Jetstar Asia’s (3K) flights will continue to operate a progressively reduced schedule until July 31 and we will contact all impacted customers directly with a full refund or an alternative flight where possible.
This is incredibly difficult news for our Jetstar Asia team members and customers, and the Jetstar Group is committed to providing support during this time with a range of options in place for those impacted.”
However, Jetstar Asia clarified that the closure will not affect its Jetstar Airways (JQ), Jetstar Japan (GK), or international flights between Southeast Asia and Australia.
