Local influencer Ceddy Ang has hit back at complaints over the government’s Budi95 subsidy scheme, which gives each person 300 litres of petrol per month.
He argued that the allowance was more than enough for most drivers and said many people were exaggerating the issue.
‘Absurd beyond belief’
In a video posted on Threads, Ceddy didn’t hold back, slamming such comments as “absurd beyond belief.”
“I was shocked when I saw people saying 300 litres isn’t enough. What do you mean not enough?” he exclaimed, before breaking it down with some cold, hard math.

According to Ceddy, cars like the Perodua Axia, Honda City, and Toyota Vios can run about 5,000 km on 300 litres of RON95 petrol.
Even larger C-segment sedans and SUVs could manage 150 km daily for a month, while fuel-hungry D-segment cars could still clock 3,900 km, or 130 km daily.
As for motorcycles, you wouldn’t even finish the 300 litres!” he remarked with a laugh.
However, Ceddy pointed out that his comments were not political, adding that his fuel consumption calculations were basic knowledge.
“I’m not siding with the government here. It’s just common sense. The numbers speak for themselves.”
Netizens back him up
Many netizens agreed with Ceddy’s argument, praising him for “doing the math” when critics apparently hadn’t.
‘I checked my Setel app, my monthly usage is around 150 litres for someone who commutes between Shah Alam and KL almost every day. Feeling grateful to get 300 litres!‘

‘Haha…maybe they want to drive or ride through an underground sea using a Go-pass-sea from West Malaysia to Borneo.’

‘Not all Asians are good at Maths.’
