Whenever we get a call from an unknown number, what we would usually do is to ignore it and pray that we will be left alone.
For this housewife in Ipoh, one spam call turned out to be the key to riches after she decided to place a bet on the phone number of a spam caller.
Uses numbers from spam caller, wins RM6mil jackpot
Based on a report by The Sun Malaysia, the woman received a call from an unknown number and rightfully chose to ignore it.
When she looked back on her missed calls, her eyes were drawn to two sets of numbers — 4526 and 3106 — leading to her instincts telling her that they carried a combination potential.
Acting on her instincts, the woman placed a RM2 wager on the digits for the Da Ma Cai 1+3D lottery draw.
To her surprise, it proved to be the ticket to enormous riches as the number combination was drawn on Sept 10, leading her to win a whopping RM6,078,449.
Her win was later confirmed by Da Mai Cai via its official Facebook page.
Commenting on her jackpot win, the woman said she never expected that using a spam caller’s number would lead her to snagging such a large amount of money.
She has since donated a portion of they money to several charitable causes instead of keeping it all for herself.
While we congratulate the woman on her win, we would like to remind everyone not to simply pick up spam calls as scammers may be lurking for their next prey!
