A woman believed to be suffering from mental health issues turned a mamak restaurant at Taman Tasek Damai, Ipoh, upside down by destroying furniture and attacking workers.
Photos of the aftermath were shared widely on social media, where it showed overturned chairs, glass fragments, and cutleries strewn all over the floor.
Went amok over rejected request
According to Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, he said the 6.30am incident occurred when the woman asked a worker to transfer money into her bank account.
When the worker declined her request, the woman suddenly snapped and went on a rampage, where she punched the worker and stabbed his colleague with a fork.

She also proceeded to smash three glass food carriers with a cleaver and took about RM400 from the cash register before getting arrested.
As a result of the woman’s actions, the mamak restaurant suffered damages estimated at RM45,000, reported Kosmo.
Believed to be mentally unwell
Abang Zainal said police later found that the woman had just been discharged from Taiping Hospital after undergoing psychiatric treatment.

As for the workers, they suffered injuries in the mouth, cheeks and chest, and were treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
The woman was sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for observation and police are probing the case under Sections 324, 427 and 380 of the Penal Code for assault, mischief and theft.
