Despite being sidelined by an accident that left him unable to walk, an SPM candidate in Kota Bharu refused to let setbacks slow him down.
Instead, he turned to unconventional study methods to keep up with his peers.
Accident leaves student unable to attend school

Mohd Izham Ruzaini Zakaria, who is sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination this year, was involved in an accident at Jalan Sri Cemerlang early last month, resulting in a fractured right thigh, Berita Harian reported.
The injury prevented him from attending school regularly. Over the past month, he only managed to set foot in school twice; once for the SPM speaking test, and again today for the written examination.
Turning to social media for revision
Confined to his home, Mohd Izham had to rethink how to prepare for one of the most important exams of his life.

With classrooms out of reach, he turned to TikTok and YouTube as his main revision tools. The platforms offered him explanations, study tips, and subject tutorials he could follow at his own pace.
He also received support from classmates who sent him notes through WhatsApp to help him stay on track.
“Throughout that time, I studied on my own at home and referred to TikTok and YouTube for revision. Some of my friends also helped by sending notes via WhatsApp,” he said.
Staying motivated despite setbacks
Even without the same level of preparation as other candidates, Mohd Izham said he remains determined and optimistic.
“Even though I didn’t prepare like the others, I’m still ready and motivated to sit for SPM,” he shared at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sultan Ismail.
