Why are Indonesians considering Malaysia?

For many Indonesians, Malaysia is seen as a land of opportunity with significant advantages over their home country.

One user expressed, “Just move, mate. Indonesia has no hope left.”

Another shared their experience, saying, Exactly my thoughts! After visiting Kuala Lumpur, I realised that for almost the same cost of living, you can enjoy a much better quality of life there. I’ve spoken to people who’ve moved to Malaysia, and they don’t want to return.”

Others praised Malaysia as a top choice for living abroad, with one saying, “Honestly, Malaysia is one of the best options. The cost of living is similar, but the purchasing power and salaries are better.”

How are Malaysians reacting?

While many Indonesians are excited about the prospect of moving to Malaysia, not all Malaysians share their enthusiasm.

Some have voiced concerns about the nation’s capacity to accommodate more foreign workers, especially with existing economic challenges.

One Malaysian commented, “It’s better to focus on improving your country’s economy first. Malaysia is a small country, and many Malaysians are still struggling. I’m sorry, but please find another country to settle in.”

Another remarked, “Enough already, no need to overcrowd Malaysia. The foreign workers here now are already overwhelming.”
