A female teacher in Indonesia has gone viral after marrying her former student — a boy she once taught in high school six years ago.
According to Wolipop, the woman first met her now-husband in 2018 while doing her teaching internship at a secondary school in Sungai Lilin, South Sumatra.
Met him when she was a trainee teacher
At the time, she was a trainee teacher, and he was an 18-year-old student. Both were in separate relationships and shared what she described as a professional teacher-student relationship.

Things changed after the student graduated. He later reached out and asked her out on a date, but she declined as she was still in a relationship.
However, the two eventually reconnected after she broke up with her then-boyfriend due to religious differences.
Over time, the two grew closer. Determined to prove his maturity and responsibility, he began working hard to build a stable future. She, in turn, decided to wait for him. After three years of commitment, the couple finally tied the knot earlier this year.

From classroom to wedding aisle
Their story quickly gained traction online, especially after a side-by-side video comparing their time as teacher and student with their wedding photos went viral across social media platforms.
“This is what I’m afraid of when teaching high school students 😭 because there are already students who get emotionally attached, even though I’m just teaching, but they catch feelings. Maybe it’s because the teacher is still young 😭🙏”

“I started teaching high school students when I was 20. One female student even openly said, ‘Sir, you’re so clueless.’ I understood what she meant, but I never responded 🤣”

“The definition of ‘my student became my husband’ ✊🥴”
