Whenever a flight gets delayed due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather, passengers would sometimes be compensated in the form of free food or accommodation.
An Indonesian singer recently expressed surprise over him receiving a food voucher after his flight got delayed, something which he called “extremely rare to see.”
Indonesian singer praises M’sia Airlines for food voucher
Taking to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, Kunto Aji, who’s best known for his appearance at Indonesian Idol in 2008, posted a photo of the food voucher he got from Malaysia Airlines.

Based on the food voucher’s description, Kunto’s eligible to spend it at various restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Starbucks.
This inevitably left the singer dumbfounded, who expressed his amazement over Malaysia Airlines’ level of generosity for passengers affected by delayed flights.
How can it be that when a flight is delayed, they give out meal vouchers worth around 120,000 rupiah (approx. RM35)? It should’ve just been a biscuit and mineral water. So generous. Aren’t they afraid of losing money? Must be a rare occurrence.”
In the comment thread, Kunto revealed that his flight was delayed for a total of two hours but didn’t reveal where he was flying from and his final destination.

Netizens share good (and bad) compensation
In the comment thread, several netizens took the opportunity to share what they received as compensation for their delayed flight.
Some, like Kunto, were fortunate enough to be given food vouchers that allowed them to dine at well-known restaurant chains.

Others however, weren’t so lucky, like this woman who was given a bottle of water and sad-looking packet of fried rice after her flight got delayed for three hours.
