After watching how effortlessly Malaysians pay for almost everything using Touch ‘n Go eWallet, some Indonesian netizens are now asking one question.
Why don’t we have this too?
“Please make one for Indonesia too”
The discussion started when an Indonesian user tagged the official Touch ‘n Go account on Threads and shared their thoughts about the app.
Please @mytouchngo, make one for Indonesia too so we can register using KTP. The UI is really good and attractive,” the user wrote.
KTP refers to Kartu Tanda Penduduk, which is Indonesia’s national identity card.
The post quickly gained traction, drawing responses from other Indonesians who shared similar sentiments.
Praised for its user-friendly design
Many netizens pointed out that the app’s interface is clean, easy to navigate, and visually appealing. Some who had previously used Touch ‘n Go while travelling in Malaysia said they were impressed by how smooth the experience was.

For them, it was not just about the design. It was also about how seamlessly the app works for daily transactions, from payments to transfers and even cross-border usage.
Cross-border convenience catches attention
Another feature that caught attention was the ability to perform transactions across multiple countries. One user described the app as “universal” after learning that it supports transactions in more than 50 countries worldwide.

For Indonesians who frequently travel or make international online payments, this level of global support was seen as a major advantage.
Several commented that having such an app locally would be beneficial, especially for those who regularly deal with cross-border transactions between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Comparisons with local eWallet apps
Although Indonesia already has several digital wallet platforms of its own, some users felt there were still limitations in terms of global payment support and certain features.
Compared to those, Touch ‘n Go eWallet was viewed as offering broader functionality, particularly when it comes to international transactions and storing funds conveniently in one place.
As a result, many expressed hope that Touch ‘n Go would consider officially expanding into Indonesia.
Hoping for KTP registration support
Beyond availability, one key request stood out. If the app were to launch in Indonesia, users hope that registration would allow them to verify their accounts using their KTP, instead of being limited to passport verification or foreign phone numbers.
For now, there has been no official announcement regarding expansion plans.
But judging by the online response, interest from Indonesia is clearly growing, proving that Malaysia’s digital payment ecosystem is gaining recognition beyond its borders.
