Since Malaysia’s first Apple Store opened at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) in June last year, it has become a hotspot for tech enthusiasts and tourists alike.
Recently, an Indonesian visitor took to social media to share their observations about Malaysia’s booming economy after spending just two hours inside the Apple Store.
‘People just keep buying non-stop’
In a viral post on X, a netizen expressed surprise at seeing a constant stream of customers purchasing Apple products like iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and iMacs, describing them as selling “like hotcakes.”
I spent two hours in this store and saw a nonstop flow of people coming and going, buying iPhones, iPads, MacBook Pros, iMacs, and all sorts of Apple products like hotcakes.”
This country is doing just fine. The middle class here is economically strong,” the netizen shared his opinion.
Beyond the Apple Store, the visitor also noted heavy traffic on the roads and rapid construction of new buildings, further proving Kuala Lumpur’s fast-paced development.
Many netizens agreed with their observations, pointing out that Malaysia is becoming a key destination for travellers due to its affordable flights, delicious food, and vibrant tourist attractions.

Apple products are cheaper in Malaysia?
Several users chimed in, claiming that Apple products are actually cheaper in Malaysia than in Indonesia.

Another user emphasized how consumer spending on luxury brands reflects the strength of Malaysia’s economy.
“If high-end brands like Apple are still selling like hotcakes, you know the economy is doing well.”
