A white BMW with the license plate ‘N 3 NEN’ caused a stir after a video of it driving along Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, Malang, went viral on social media on Saturday (16 Feb).
The plate caught attention because ‘N 3 NEN’ closely resembles ‘Nenen,’ which has an inappropriate meaning in Indonesian and Malay, referring to “breastfeeding.”
According to kumparanNews, the driver was identified as 22-year-old Rasya Salikha, and investigations revealed that the ‘N 3 NEN’ plate was fake.
The woman behind the wheel, was driving her friend’s BMW when traffic police pulled her over.
After checking, the police found that the car’s actual plate was supposed to be ‘N 1699 ABG.’
She confessed that swapping the plate was her idea for a TikTok video.
Following the incident, she apologized publicly for her actions.
I admit the plate was inappropriate. I sincerely apologize for my actions and promise not to repeat this mistake,” she said.
Fined Rp500,000 (Around RM137)
She received a Rp500,000 fine (approximately RM137) and was instructed to put back the original license plate immediately.
The police also reminded the public that using inappropriate license plates can distract other drivers and lead to accidents.
