A viral video showing a tourist being attacked by a tiger in Thailand has raised alarm about the safety of close animal encounters.
The footage, now circulating on social media, was recorded at a popular wildlife attraction in Phuket and captures the moment an Indian man is attacked while attempting to take a selfie inside the tiger’s enclosure.
Attack when the tourist bends down
The incident occurred at Tiger Kingdom, a facility that allows visitors to enter enclosures and interact directly with tigers.
In the video, the tourist is seen walking beside a fully grown tiger. As he bends down for a photo, a staff member tries to coax the tiger into a sitting position using a stick.

However, the situation quickly escalates—within seconds, the tiger turns aggressive and lunges at the man, creating panic among onlookers.
The video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) on May 29 by user @sidhshuk, who captioned it:
Apparently an Indian man attacked by a tiger in Thailand. This is one of those places where they keep tigers like pets and people can take selfies, feed them, etc, etc.”
Netizens’ reaction
The clip has sparked widespread debate online, with many users questioning the ethics of letting tourists come into close contact with wild animals for the sake of entertainment.
