Uncle Kentang, also known as Kuan Chee Heng, is a well-known figure for his philanthropic activities towards needy Malaysians.
In conjunction with 8.8 Father’s Day yesterday (August 8), netizens launched a Touch n’ Go (TnG) donation drive, which came with a QR code that directed all funds to Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang Malaysia.
It is believed that the initiative was their token of appreciation for Kuan’s hard work and continuous efforts in helping the needy.
Kuan later took to his official Facebook page to request the public to stop donating as the event was not created by him.

He also assured donors that it wasn’t a scam as all donations were made to his account.
Despite his request, netizens continued to contribute to his TnG account.
Moved by their generosity, Kuan penned a heartfelt message to netizens for their support.
I’m so touched! Having each one of you as supporters is our greatest motivation.
I’ll continue to use all these donations to help the needy. Once again, thank you.
Thank you for always looking out for fellow Malaysians, Uncle Kentang! #respect
