A short buggy ride to a grocery store turned into a 25-minute nightmare for one Malaysian woman, all within the basement of Central i-City.
In a Threads post, she shared how she was approached by a foreign security guard at the B1 parking level, who offered to drive her to the store’s entrance. Thinking it was just a helpful gesture, she agreed.
Buggy going in circles
She recalled that upon arriving at the B1 parking level, the guard asked where she was headed and offered to drive her in a buggy to the closest entrance to Village Grocer.

She got on board, expecting a short ride. But instead of heading straight there, the guard said he would “look for others to pick up” and began circling the carpark all the way down to B3.
Although they made casual conversation, she started feeling uneasy as the ride stretched on far longer than expected.
“We were just going in circles. I started to panic,” she wrote, adding that she was seated at the back and couldn’t clearly hear the questions he was asking.
The woman claimed the guard kept driving slowly, even though no other passengers joined, and things got even more uncomfortable when he suddenly asked if she was married.
Personal questions and phone number request
After she replied that she was, the guard allegedly continued asking questions like whether her husband stayed with her. Then, unexpectedly, he asked for her phone number.

I was blank for a moment. I had already told him I was married, but he still asked for my number,” she wrote.
Too afraid to say no, she gave him a fake name and number, which he wrote down in a notebook.
He then said, “I’ll call you tonight, around 10.30 pm,” and added that if she didn’t like it, she could just block him.
At this point, all she could do was nod in silence, hoping the ride would finally end.
After nearly 25 minutes, the buggy finally stopped, but not at the designated drop-off point. Instead, he left her near another parking section and told her to walk to the entrance.
I didn’t even know what to say. I just wanted to get to the store. It was supposed to be a short ride,” she shared.
Sent back to the agency
Following the viral post, the woman later shared that Central i-City had personally reached out to her via DM.
According to them, the security guard involved was outsourced from an agency, and he has since been sent back to the agency after the incident.

Hope the action taken is real. I just hope I don’t bump into him again,” she added.
Not the only victim
In the comment section of Saufia’s post, a number of netizens shared their encounter with the same security guard in the past.
“This guard, my friend, had a run-in with him, too. He said he’d take us to where we wanted to go, but in the end, he tried to bring us to the security area instead. Eee, creepy.”

“Wehhh I swear! Same guy! He was checking us out from head to toe through the mirror. So disgusting!!!”

“Wehhh hahaha is it the same guy?? But alhamdulillah he didn’t act flirty with us — maybe because we called him “uncle”? Not sure. But honestly, if he wasn’t there, we would’ve gotten lost ’cause we always forget where we parked”

Be careful, girls
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Saufia said she hopes this post can help spread awareness for girls out there.
She also ended her post on Threads with a heartfelt warning to other women, especially those who often go out alone.
Girls, please be careful. Maybe just say you’ll walk instead of taking the buggy. I’m honestly worried about these foreign guards,” she wrote.
**Special thanks to Saufia for sharing her story.
