As a casual mobile game player, I’m not one who’s willing to spend big bucks on gaming phones. In fact, I wouldn’t even purchase an extra device just to mash buttons onscreen.
However, that all changed when Infinix NOTE 10 PRO came along.
Much to my surprise, the phone came with a RM 888 price tag. Pair that with the 9.9 Shopee Sales, it drops all the way down to RM 799 only!
With my interest piqued, I decided to take it for a trial run by playing three of Malaysia’s popular mobile games – Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB), PlayerUnknown Battleground (PUBG), and the notoriously graphics-heavy Genshin Impact.
So, how did it go? Read on to find out!
MLBB
MOBA with BOBA
Arguably, Mobile Legends is not known for its graphically demanding quality. Hence, I put the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO to the test by cranking up the quality to Ultra HD. With the highest resolution enabled, the game was still running at 55 fps, ensuring smooth and fluid gameplay.
After one full match, I checked the battery level and was pleased to see that it barely dropped, although I could feel the phone getting a little warmer.
Overall, it is safe to say playing MLBB at the highest resolution with the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO doesn’t compromise on the game flow and performance.
PUBG
Winner winner, chicken dinner!
Moving on to the next trial!
Compared to MLBB, PUBG is more graphically demanding as it heavily relies on precise aiming gameplay, intricate motions, and physics (yes, this still applies outside of school!)
However, as PUBG has yet to introduce an HDR option, I manually adjusted the graphics to the best resolution available and was impressed by how smooth the gameplay remained.
Although it was operating at a high frame rate, the motions and aim stayed sharp throughout and showed no signs of lagging. Most importantly, the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO didn’t burst into flames after a few rounds of play.
Genshin Impact
The final boss
Here came the ultimate test – will Genshin Impact be the one to break the phone?
Notable for its demanding graphics, Genshin Impact’s resolution are said to be on par with most PC games.
With a heart full of low expectations, I downloaded the 12GB game and was curious to see how the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO would perform.
Although the default resolution was set at “Medium”, I adjusted a few settings so it is close to its default “High quality” without exceeding the recommended optimal quality. However, even by setting the game’s render resolution at high, the game still can runs at 60 fps without any lag or heating issue.
To my amazement, the phone was able to deliver thanks to its 90Hz, 6.95″ FHD superfluid display. With that, I found myself fully immersed in the beautiful world of Teyvat.
Given the flamboyant animations and detail-oriented environment peppered throughout Genshin Impact, I was honestly stunned at how smooth the gaming experience was even at a decent resolution.
While I could feel some warm fumes at my fingertips, the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO held its own pretty well and never overheated.
Infinix NOTE 10 PRO Specifications
With its Helio G95 processor, Infinix NOTE 10 PRO outperforms many other phone’s processors at the same price range scoring 302316 at its Antutu benchmark, which measures overall CPU, GPU, RAM, and I/O performance at different scenarios. Working with its Dar-link ultimate game booster, it delivers the premium mobile game experience that every gamer needs.
The big 6.95” FHD+ screen that has a 91% screen-to-body ratio enabled an immersive experience during gameplay. Coupled with the 90Hz refresh rate & 180Hz touch sampling rate, the entire experience was extremely smooth with no lagging even on graphic-heavy games like Genshin Impact.
While RM799 may sound ludicrously cheap to some, the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO doesn’t compromise on quality and this has been proven through the three games I tested it out with.
Even if you aren’t an avid gamer, you can take stunning pictures with the Infinix NOTE 10 PRO thanks to its 64MP AI Quad Camera, which comes with Ultra Night Camera mode for clear & crisp photos even under low light conditions.
As for the battery, say goodbye to slow charging time and short battery life as the phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery & 33W fast charging feature so you can enjoy up to 11 hours of non-stop gaming!
My favourite feature? It’s definitely the smart XOS 7.6 operating system that has Game Mode which allows you to quickly reply social media messages by floating it over your gaming screen, without interrupting gameplay.
Do you really need more convincing? The Infinix NOTE 10 PRO has already proven itself worthy!
