A Malaysian entrepreneur’s vacation at a homestay took a disturbing turn when she discovered she was being filmed while showering.
According to the victim, beauty brand founder Datin Lyanaz Hassan, a male staff at the homestay was caught recording a video of her from outside the bathroom window.
Staff allegedly filmed victim in the bathroom
In the police report, the incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday (Aug 26).
She stated that while she was showering, she noticed someone holding a phone near the window. Upon a closer inspection, she saw the suspect recording her and quickly alerted her husband.
The suspect tried to flee on a motorcycle but was later identified by the homestay owner. It was later confirmed that the suspect worked at the homestay and his family admitted he had filmed her while pleading not to involve the authorities.
Despite their pleas, Datin Lyanaz proceeded to lodge a police report, fearing for her safety and privacy.
Confronted male staff
In a viral video on TikTok, Datin Lyanaz is seen furiously confronted the suspect and screaming, “You’re such a b*****d! What if someone did this to your mother? Do you know I have children? You’re f***ing disgusting!”
She was also seen hitting the suspect repeatedly before other guests intervened and pulled her off from him.
Another woman, believed to be the suspect’s mother, raised her hands in apology and appeared to plead for forgiveness.
The next day, Datin Lyanaz later shared more details through her Instagram stories and hosted a livestream to provide further explanation about the incident.
According to her, she claimed the suspect had recorded her for five minutes straight and that his phone contained several explicit videos.
“I was in the bathroom when the staff recorded me. We checked his phone and found so many porn videos. I’ve already handed it over to the police,” she added.
Had drug record & wanted by police
Datin Lyanaz also claimed the suspect was not only using illegal substances, but was also wanted by police for multiple drug-related cases.
Addressing rumours that the entire incident was staged for publicity, Datin Lyanaz denied it, saying her experience was real and that she had no reason to use unethical marketing tactics.
